Governors

The Local Governing Body of Unicorn Primary School

The Local Governing Body (LGB) of Unicorn Primary School is a committee of the main board of Mosaic Schools Learning Trust (mosaicschoolslearningtrust.org). MSLT was established in September 2024, combining Connect Schools Academy Trust and Compass Academy Trust to form a new dynamic Trust of ten strongly performing schools across Bromley and Kent.

If you wish to contact the Chair of Governors or another member of the Local Governing Body, please address your correspondence to Elaine Cooper, Head of Governance, at HeadofGovernance@MSLT.org.uk or alternatively, through the school office unicorn@mslt.org.uk.

Members of the Governing Body:

Gail Preston- Co-opted Governor
Vice Chair

Gail is a Unicorn community governor since 2016. Gail has three boys who are or have been part of Unicorn Primary School. Gail works part-time locally as a Physiotherapist, balancing being a mum and a governor with responsibility for staff development and well-being.

Hilary Coupe- Co-opted Governor
I have lived locally since I was four years old and have taught in a variety of primary schools (State & Independent) in the vicinity.

Having raised two sons, both still living in the area, we enjoy spending time with them, their partners and our grandson.

Since retiring from teaching, I have been able to increase our UK and European travel (pandemic allowing) and we seem to be using our National Trust and English Heritage memberships to the full!

I welcome the opportunity to join the Unicorn Governing Body and look forward to actively contributing to the school's continuing success, particularly to the involvement within the local community.
